Come for the Art and Stay for the Fun at the Annual Summit Arts Showcase

Spend some time relaxing in the mountains at the annual Summit Arts Showcase Friday, July 12th from 4-8pm and Saturday, July 13th from 10am-5pm. Oakley’s Red Barn, set against the Uintas, is a gorgeous setting for artists to exhibit their work and for arts enthusiasts to come grow their collections.

Just over twenty local artists who are mostly from the Eastside of Summit County, invited by a peer-review jury, will participate in the exhibit and sale. Their artwork ranges from contemporary to traditional and includes a variety of mediums from acrylic to watercolor to photography, ceramics, fiber arts, and jewelry. Some of the artists will even  be doing demonstrations over the two-day event to share their creative process.

Participating artists include: Adrianna Allegretti, Amber Moore-Barcus, Anna Moore, Cheryl Livingston-Young, Chikamu Arts, Delana Albrecht,  Denise Walz , Erica Brunelle, Frances ReMillard, Fred Montague, Jenny Terry, Karen Kendall, Kate  Wynn, House Forty Eight, Mary Perry , Michael Hays, Michael Smith, Nan Gray , Richard Pick, Sabrina Squires , Sara Seaver of 82 Degrees and Sunny.

The event also includes live music on Friday night from 5:30 - 7:30pm and Saturday from 12pm - 4pm. Friday kicks off with Streetcorner Boogie playing from 5:30 to 7:30pm, and the music continues on Saturday with Brian Neff at 12pm noon, Shannon Runyon at 1pm, Brian Bingham at 2pm, and Jessa Young at 3pm.

Food trucks will be at the Showcase on Friday (4-8pm) and Saturday (11am- 5pm). So far we have Taqueria Los Cuñados and Praise Cheeezus lined-up for both days, Wasatch Creamery lined-up for Friday night, and La Michoacanna Ice Cream all day Saturday.

Bring a blanket, your family and friends,  and a ball to toss or kick around on the adjacent fields and playground. The event is free to the public. The Red Barn is located at 4300 S.R. 32.
