Kamas Valley Invites You to Their New Artisan Market
With farmer’s markets season swiftly approaching, make sure to add the brand new Kamas Valley Artisan Market to your list! The Kamas Valley Artisan Market is currently being hosted every third Saturday of the month at the Kamas City Event Center. Offerings include Valley-grown meat, food and produce, books and artisan-made home goods, art, and gifts and so much more.
Although the market just recently launched back in March 2023, the idea has been brewing for years.
“I was part of the original Kamas Action steering committee in 2020, and a farmers market was high on the priority list from the start. But COVID put a stop to any progress,” says Kate Wynn, market organizer.
Since then, Wynn took note of local vendor’s needs including opening the market to small businesses in addition to food producing ones, making the market year-round and adding live music and food trucks as the market grows.
“Kamas Valley has a lot of talented entrepreneurs, but until now there hasn't been a - regular - place here to showcase their products. The best way to keep that talent here is (in my opinion), to offer a place within the Valley to market their wares.”
Wynn alongside other organizers aim to keep the market community-driven, collecting feedback from visitors and participants alike. Even a portion of the proceeds is going back into funding community events such as Kamas Action’s Gateway to Summer & Fiesta Days further down the road.
“The Valley is growing, and I hope that the growth can be a positive influence.
The people here produce amazing meat, cheese, preserves, baked items and other edible goodies. We have candle-makers, soap producers, and ceramicists. The landscape inspires photographers, painters, printmakers, quilters and other artists.”
Make the most out of your weekend and head to the Kamas Artisan Market on Saturday, May 19th!
