Live Music at the Summit Community Gardens
The Summit Community Gardens is a place to experience the peace and tranquility that a garden holds, but this is not any ordinary garden. They host dinners in the Garden every other week accompanied with live, local, music performances.
Their mission is to get fresh local produce to those who need it. “As we have an increased need for food assistants we feel very motivated to help as much as we can.”, Said Sloane Johnson of the Summit Community Gardens. They have even started to accept SNAP benefits and Double up food bucks at their Wednesday farm stand. Another way they assist those in need is by working with Bright Futures which helps them identify families who are the most in need and offer them a free weekly CSA from the Garden. They also donate all extra produce to the Christian Center.
On August 6th, Twisted Fern will be doing a farm to table dinner. Live local music is scheduled with this event as well.
Thursday, July 23, Wyatt Pike will be the performer at the Garden’s. They plan to have pizza and enjoy the lovely scenery while enjoying Pike’s performance.
The Summit Community Gardens offers many different experiences from summer camp, to yoga/meditation and more. To learn more about it visit their website at Summit Community Gardens.
