Noches de Verano En Parque De La Ciudad

You don’t have to be in Park City for long before you hear about Mountain Town Music, the nonprofit organization that programs live music performances at several venues throughout, not only Park City, but all of Summit County. Their latest creation is Noches de Verano En Parque De La Ciudad, a Monday night series of Latino music, art, and food, designed to share this unique culture as part of the Park City community.

As Mountain Town Music’s Conductor of Community Affairs, Brian Richards was considering the needs of the community and saw that there was a gap in including and celebrating the Latino population and its culture.

Richards was then inspired to approach the Latinos in Action class at Park City High School last December to solicit input and participation. Charlene Rodriguez and Evelin Arrieta, two seniors in the class, volunteered their time to help Richards’ vision come to life.

In addition to live music, you can look forward to the Tacos Don Rafa food truck. The Kimball Art Center will help provide Latino art projects to round out the cultural offerings of the evening.

Join the festivities every Monday night at City Park from now until July 3. You can begin gathering at 4pm. The music begins at 6:30pm. The celebration is a free family-friendly event. On June 12, Mi Terra Mariachi will perform, followed by Grupo Xcape Norteno on June 19th. The series continues on June 26 with the Latin Roots Band, and the final performance on July 3 will be Desafio Show.
