The Summit County Fair is upon us! It’s special time for the community to come together to celebrate the culture and heritage of Summit County. The annual event brings a full week of food, fun, exhibits, demonstrations, contests, and rides. In addition to the demolition derby, the livestock showings, the 4H displays, parade, pie baking contest, and the little buckeroo rodeo, the Fair hosts the Fine Arts Exhibit which gives local artists the opportunity to share their artwork with the public.

The Fine Arts Exhibit will be displayed in the newly renovated Fairgrounds Building, which is an exciting development this year. This new location provides a beautiful temperature controlled and well lit interior exhibition space. Artwork will be displayed in the entrance and throughout the main hallway of the building.

Fine Arts Exhibit submission categories include photography, oil/acrylic painting, watercolor, graphic arts, sculpture, pottery, glass and metal. Youth (grades 9-12) and adults are eligible for awards and prizes that offer ribbons and cash premium prizes. Last year more nearly 80 artists submitted over 130 pieces that were seen by more than 1600 visitors.

Summit County residents can drop off artwork for the Fair at the Summit County Library Kimball Junction Branch as well as the County Fair Office at the Summit County Courthouse in Coalville through July 31st. After July 31st, artists can drop off work at the Fine Arts Tent on Tuesday, August 7th from 4-7pm. Judging will occur on Wednesday, August 8th and the exhibit will open to the public on Thursday, August 9th and run through Saturday, August 11th.

Exhibit Hours:
