Summit County Fair Seeking Artist Submissions
The annual Summit County Fair brings the community together each summer for food, fun, exhibits, demonstrations, contests, rides, and of course, the ever popular demolition derby (always a local favorite). The Fair also promotes local artists by hosting a Fine Arts Show at the Ledges Event Center. This show provides local artists an opportunity to share their creative work with the public.
Fine Arts Exhibit submission categories include photography, oil/acrylic painting, watercolor, graphic arts, sculpture, pottery, glass and metal. Youth (grades 9-12) and adults are eligible for awards and prizes that offer ribbons and cash premium prizes. Artists and creative people of all ages are encouraged to submit artwork—whether they are an emerging talent or an established artist.
Summit County residents can drop off artwork at the Summit County Library in Kimball Junction, and the information office at the Summit County Courthouse in Coalville during the month of July. After July 31st, artists can check-in work at the Ledges Event Center at the County Fairgrounds on August 9 from 4-7pm. Judging will occur on Wednesday, August 10, and the exhibit will open to the public on Thursday, August 11 through Saturday, August 14.
Exhibit Hours:
Thursday, 8/11: 4-8pm
Friday, 8/12: 11-8pm
Saturday, 8/13: 11-8pm
Admission to all Fair events is free and a full schedule of activities is available on the Fair website. Complete rules and regulations listed here.
