Located at the base of Deer Valley Resort’s Snow Park Village area, the Cafe is an upscale
cafeteria-style restaurant operated by the acclaimed Deer Valley F&B team, serving house-
made breakfast from 7:30-11:30am, with specialty coffees, pastries baked daily and a selection
of gourmet grocery items.

Don’t Miss: The Skillet Fried Dutch Baby is a spiced skillet pancake with poached
pears, candied ginger butter and a sprinkling of powdered sugar, served piping hot in a
cast iron skillet. Order it with a side of Niman Ranch apple sausage and you’ll be ready
to face the day with a smile.

Western Collection on the Mountain 

Make your way up to Montage Deer Valley to view the hotel’s collection of original art in a private collection that represents the culture and heritage of the American West. Montage Hotels & Resorts has a commitment to museum-quality art, original, local art that evokes a unique sense of place at each of its luxury resort locations. Guests and visiting art lovers are welcome to take a self-guided art tour to learn more about the fascinating collection housed in the public spaces of the resort. Stop at the Concierge Desk to request a copy of their 150-page, art tour book containing artist biographies as well as information about all of the works in the Montage collection of paintings, sculptures and more. 

Insider’s Insight: Many of the works on display at Montage Deer Valley were commissioned specifically for this hotel site. Be sure to check out the imposing 8-ft tall bronze depicting an early skier by Herb Mignery in the center of the main lobby, as well as numerous commissioned paintings by Luke Frazier, and other commissioned works by Doug Bouman, Ken Baxter, Bonnie Posselli, Marian Westall, and Hillary Parker.

LUNCH AT THE TOP OF MAIN 

Color outside the lines and have lunch at Wasatch Brew Pub, the first brew pub ever in Utah, the State’s first brewery since Prohibition, and one of the first craft brewers in the U.S. Enjoy nuanced pub favorites with the whole family, like Niman Ranch Meatloaf, Wasatch Fish & Chips or Super Food Beet Salad, along with a frosty glass of Wasatch Brewery’s craft beer. Try the irreverently-named Polygamy Porter, the luscious Apricot Hefeweizen, or the malty Evolution Amber. Beer is served by the glass, pitcher, or growler, as well as in fifty cent “Taster” portions that allow easy sampling of several beer varieties.   

Naughty, Naughty! Founder Greg Schirf was considered quite a maverick when he started brewing beer in Utah. He successfully lobbied the State Legislature to legalize brew pubs in 1987 and has continued his mission to liberalize Utah’s liquor laws with cheeky marketing campaigns featuring slogans like, “Polygamy Porter – Why Have Just One?”, and “Wasatch Beer: The Other Local Religion”.

Galleries Galore! 

Park City is home to over 20 art galleries displaying a vast array of art in many genres, mediums, and styles. Park City Gallery Association hosts the celebrated monthly “Last Friday” Gallery Stroll throughout the year, featuring exhibit openings, artist appearances and other special events. There are plenty of opportunities to foster your creative muse. Kimball Art Center provides a central place for arts enthusiasts to explore the creative spark with a robust schedule of classes and workshops for all ages, abilities and mediums. Special for the holiday season, register for “Handmade Clay Tree Ornaments” (family-centered class on December 23 at 10am). The full calendar of KAC’s art classes is available on their website.     

Art for All! 

Summit County is rich with public art installations! Following the passage of the “Utah Percent for Art Act” in 1985, 1% of construction costs of new and/or renovated state public buildings is added to the project for the purpose of commissioning, maintaining and conserving site-specific art at, on, or in the facility. Public art goes beyond the expected sculpture or painting – it includes terrazzo floors, etched glass, ceiling panels, textiles, stair railings, risers, pavers, planters, landscape, fences, grates, and more.
