Call for Artists // Summit Arts Showcase 2021
The Arts Council of Park City & Summit County is pleased to announce a Call for Artists for the 2021 Summit Arts Showcase, located outside at the Red Barn in Oakley, UT on June 18th & 19th.
This event is an annual juried summer art show, the only one of its kind on the Eastern side of the County. The Arts Council produces the annual Summit Arts Showcase to support local artists and provide an opportunity for them to present their work.
Set against the Uinta mountain range, the Oakley Red Barn is a gorgeous setting to exhibit our local talent and for arts enthusiasts to come expose themselves to art and grow their collections. Local arts and culture events help connect people, and bring the community together. The Arts Council is proud to continue our tradition to offer the 11th Annual Summit Arts Showcase this year — an event that we feel is especially needed now as we all continue to be safe and prioritize public health while staying socially connected through the arts.
Due to the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s Summit Arts Showcase will be a little different. The Arts Council has been granted permission by Oakley City to bring our annual Summit Arts Showcase outdoors, and utilize the parking lot as the main venue to help disperse artists and visitors. Artists are required to bring their own set up to the show including a 10 x 10 pop-up tent with weights, tables, chairs, and any display panels they would like to use in their booth. The event will follow all COVID-19 related health guidelines set by Oakley City, and are working closely with their event management team to align with their protocols and ensure the safety of artists and patrons. We will also recommend that all event patrons wear masks when visiting the Summit Arts Showcase. The Arts Council will provide disposable masks if visitors do not have their own.
The event is scheduled for Friday, June 18th from 4-8pm & Saturday, June 19th from 10am-5pm. The day will be filled with artistic entertainment including musical performances and live art demonstrations in addition to the art showcase sale. The Arts Council will also have local food trucks onsite to encourage visitors to have a picnic lunch or dinner during the event.
The deadline to apply for the Summit Arts Showcase is Tuesday, May 18th by 5pm. Artists working in any visual art medium are encouraged to apply. Space is limited, and preference is given to Summit County residents.
To apply, please fill out the artist application here and send 3 images (.jpg or .png) of your artwork to admin@pcscarts.org by the deadline. Artists will be selected by a jury of local artists and art enthusiasts from Summit County. All applicants will be notified about the status of their application by Friday, May 28th. If selected, the registration fee to participate in the two day event is $80.
