Park City’s got the Blues // Grammy Nominated Musicians this December

The 2018 Grammy nominations were announced last week and one category, Best Contemporary Blues Album, should be of particular interest to music lovers in Park City, as two of the bands nominated have scheduled tour stops in town this month.

The Park City Institute, one of Park City’s beloved nonprofits whose missions is dedicated to bringing world-class performances and new ideas to the community has recently released their 20th Anniversary 2017-2018 Main Stage Season, and it is packed with incredible performances.

The season starts off this weekend with none other than Robert Cray, who will be performing at the George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Center for the Performing Arts on December 9th with the Robert Cray Band. Robert Cray is a five-time Grammy Award winner already, and he is now newly nominated for his album “Robert Cray & Hi Rhythm”, recorded in Memphis with the legendary Hi Rhythm Section horns.

The list goes on! Robert Randolph & The Family Band will perform at O.P. Rockwell on December 28th. They too were nominated in the Best Contemporary Blues Album category for their latest release, “Got Soul”. The band is offering a special opportunity “Got Soul Soundcheck Experience and Meet ‘n Greet” package for a limited pre-purchase guest list, offering deeper connection to the band and their music.

The Grammy Awards will air live from Madison Square Garden in New York City on January 28, 2018.
