Show Off Your Artwork at the 2019 Summit County Fair

The annual Summit County Fair brings the community together for a week of food, fun, exhibits, demonstrations, contests, and rides. In addition to the demolition derby (always a locals favorite), the livestock showings, the 4H displays, parade, pie baking contest, and the little buckeroo rodeo, the Fair hosts the Fine Arts Exhibit  which gives local artists the opportunity to share their creative work with the public. Admission to all Fair events is free and a full schedule of activities is available on the Fair website.

Fine Arts Exhibit submission categories include photography, oil/acrylic painting, watercolor, graphic arts, sculpture, pottery, glass and metal. Youth (grades 9-12) and adults are eligible for awards and prizes that offer ribbons and cash premium prizes. Last year, we had 80 participating artists, 153 artwork submissions, and 164 ribbons were awarded. Attendance also spiked last year as we had a change in location from the fine arts tent to the newly constructed Ledges Event Center, which is more centralized within the County Fairgrounds. Over 3,000 people enjoyed the fine arts exhibit last year.

Summit County residents can drop off artwork for the Fair at the Summit County Library Kimball Junction and the County Fair Office at the Summit County Courthouse in Coalville during the month of July. After July 31st, artists can check-in work at the Ledges Event Center at the Coalville Fairgrounds on August 6th from 4-7pm. Judging will occur on Wednesday, August 7th and the exhibit will open to the public on Thursday, August 8th and run through Saturday, August 10th.

Exhibit Hours:

Friday, 8/9: 11-8pm
