Read & Ride
Art Adventure

Old Town, McPolin Barn, and Rail Trail

DAY 1

Grab an awesome book and warm beverage at Atticus Coffee & Teahouse and then make your way up to Dolly’s Bookstore, owned and operated by locals. Check out the schedule of events - if you’re lucky a book signing or reading will be happening while you’re in town.

Pop over to the Park City Transit Center and rent one of the new e-bikes or hop on the bus. Ride to the recently renovated Park City Library which houses rotating art exhibits, a collection of over 70,000 titles, and cozy reading rooms.

Continue riding to Silver Star Cafe for lunch and a view of the Park City Resort ski runs, then keep going out to the McPolin Barn. Download the walking tour app to learn about the history of this early homestead. After September 23, view the hand-made scarecrows that line the trail. Return to the Transit Center for dinner on Main Street (Two for One Discounts in the Park Record newspaper are abundant in the fall) or stop at Squatters or Twisted Fern for dinner in Snow Creek on the way back.

DAY 2

For your next adventure, rent a bike from one of the many local outfitters (White Pine Touring, Park City Bike Demos, Jans, and Pedego are a few) and head to the Union Pacific Rail Trail that runs from Park City to Coalville. In Coalville, make time for a visit to the Summit County Historical Museum for a look into local history and heritage.
