Artfully Inspirational Summer Camps
When you think of sending your child to a summer camp, s’mores, singalongs, and sleeping bags often come to mind. But at Kimball Art Center, summer camps are more about creativity, inspiration, and imagination.
Kimball Art Center offers art camps for children of all ages — from tots to teens. With the exception of holidays and special events, camps are held Monday-Friday and both morning and afternoon sessions are available. Even better, all classes and camps at Kimball Art Center are taught by professional, practicing artists with teaching experience and a personal investment in art education. Curriculum is age appropriate and carefully considered and vetted to inspire, educate, and foster an appreciation for art in all its forms.
This summer at the Kimball, kids can learn how to make their own board games, musical instruments, and inspirational journals. Camps that combine beloved children’s books with art projects, and even interactive art history lessons are also available.
“In general, summer camps foster lifelong memories, skills, and friendship,” notes Kimball Art Center Executive Director, Jory Macomber. “And research shows summer camps that offer arts education help children develop crucial life skills like; self-confidence, creative problem-solving abilities, compassion, empathy, resilience, and Independence.”

In addition, since art is proven to help adults develop those same skills too, it’s a good thing Kimball Art Center also offers a host of classes for grown-ups. You’ll find options for all skill levels and time commitments in a variety of mediums here.
