Sharing Song and Stories: Johnsmith Concert & Songwriting Workshop
A few years back a friend asked me if I knew of Johnsmith and his music. They were shocked when I said I did not. Their advice was very simple, “well you should check him out”. I did and this is what I found.
Johnsmith is one of those artists so often under-recognized – he possesses a genius that cannot be denied, ignored, or overlooked. For the past thirty-plus years, Johnsmith has been sharing his music all across America and abroad. He has become a favorite at festivals, clubs, and house concerts alike. In addition to being a Kerrville New Folk Winner, Johnsmith has released seven solo CDs to rave reviews, leads musical tours to Ireland, teaches songwriting, has served as a staff songwriter in Nashville, and teaches “Songwriting From The Heart” at Esalen Institute, Big Sur, CA. This year he will be joining the staff of the Moab Folk Camp in Moab, Ut.
With his faded jeans, his twinkly blue eyes, and his infectious smile, John immediately connects with audiences. You get the sense of a man who loves his life, his family and friends, and who loves nothing more than sharing that love in song and stories all across this Land.
John will be performing in concert on Saturday evening October 28th at the Living Energy Center, 1662 Bonanza Dr in Park City. The evening will begin at 6PM with a potluck dinner and the show will start at 7PM. RSVP to Rebecca Hilly at 435-640-7829.
During the day of the 28th John will be conducting a songwriting workshop at the Granger School of Music, 1850 Sidewinder Dr, in Park City. The Workshop is being hosted by Park City’s songwriter group and will commence at 10am running till approximately 4pm with a break for lunch.
Park City Songwriters is a group of local and regional songwriters of all ability levels from beginner to seasoned veteran, from folk to pop, C & W to hip hop.
