Snowfest Brings Local Musical Talents to the Stage
Just like many other creative arts, it has been long said that music gives one emotional response. Characters of varying degree that are found in music, can affect one’s mood. Music can raise someone’s mood, get them excited, or make them calm and relaxed. Music also - and this is important - allows us to feel nearly or possibly all emotions that we experience in our lives. The possibilities are endless.
Music plays a very important role in bringing people together. Whether it’s a festival, concert or a club night, people come together to enjoy the music that’s being played. It’s amazing to see the number of people coming from different countries in the whole world, just to be part of the experience. At festivals like Tomorrowland or Ultra, you’ll see a lot of people from all over the world to enjoy the whole musical experience.
The Park City Mountain Resort has several musical acts coming in the next few months. The 1st is apart of their larger event, Snowfest. On Saturday, December 21st, Rose and Thorn will be at the Umbrella Bar at Canyons Village. Rose and Thorn describe themselves as “Songwriter Sirens and guitar slingers, Shannon Runyon & Brooke Mackintosh unite their angelic voices in a Super Mountain Soul Duo.”
On Sunday, December 22nd at 3-6, Live Music by Streetcorner Boogie will be apart of the Silver Sky Nights event. These musicians describe themselves as “Low-fi, Juke Joint, Vintage Sound” and are a local act from Park City, Utah.
The next musical act apart of Snowfest is Will Baxter Trio on Christmas Day at 2- 4:30. They will also have another performance on January 2nd. They are an organ-trio, with a trumpet. Featuring Adam Fifield on organ and bass, Wachira Waigwa-Stone on drums, Dave Terran on Trumpet, and Will Baxter guitar and vocals.
The final act will be Wyatt Pike on December 29th. Wyatt is an 18-year-old guitar player and singer. He states that “My love for music goes back years into my childhood as I received my first guitar as a present for becoming potty trained. Around the age of 1O, I started guitar lessons with a full-size guitar. and quickly fell in love with the instrument. Through involvement with an after-school youth music program, I played and sang with a classic rock band, performing at all-ages venues in Park City, UT.” You’ll be able to catch Wyatt at the Umbrella Bar in Canyons Village.
