International Mural Artist Sasha Primo is coming to Summit County this May
Spring into action this May and join artist Sasha Primo for an Art Talk, Community Workshops and Paint Days to help bring the Hoytsville Historical Mural to life!
The Summit County Public Art Advisory Board, with support from the Arts Council will produce a historical mural to be installed at the Summit County Public Works Building in Hoytsville, UT. This project was conceived in response to a request from Hoytsville residents for a public artwork that honors the unique history, landscape, and spirit of the region.
Muralist Sasha Primo has worked internationally, creating large-scale art projects in his home country of Argentina as well as abroad; his method focuses on community involvement and encouraging residents of the communities in which he works to take ownership of public art projects and to give voice to their lives and realities through creative action.
Sasha will arrive in Summit County on May 10th, 2022, and remain throughout the month as he conducts interviews with Hoytsville residents and Indigneous Tribal Members of the Ute and Shoshone nations, tours local landmarks, and gets to know the people and places that make the North Summit region special.
There are several events that will be open to the public, including a chance to meet Sasha for an Art Talk, 2 Community Workshops which offer a chance to participate in activities that will inform the symbolism used in Sasha’s mural design, and 2 Community Paint Days where all Summit County residents are invited to roll up their sleeves and help Sasha produce the mural.
