For years, Joe Totten, utilized his writing skills during his advertising career and most recently, to create his debut novel, The Law of Capture. Joe and his family moved to Park City in 1996. He eventually joined a writer’s group and got more serious about his personal writing projects. In 2016, while the book was still in process, he won the State of Utah's Writing Contest for his short story “The Starling Killers”.

Park City Museum is host to a fantastic traveling exhibit “Black and White in Black and White: Images of Dignity, Hope, and Diversity in America”. The exhibit is made up of powerful photographs taken by African American photographer John Johnson between 1910 and 1925. Johnson had no studio and so he used the natural environment around him, including his own Lincoln, Nebraska neighborhood.

Marianne C. Bohr, is one of our newest local authors. She retired in 2016 from a career in publishing and teaching middle school French and moved here from Maryland soon after.

Being skiers and hikers, she and husband Joe, love that Park City is a real town and not just a ski resort. “We also love that the international airport is so close for our frequent getaways,” explains Marianne. “Our two adult children are in LA and DC and so we chose somewhere in between they would appreciate visiting.”

Emma Greally is a photographer, author, and activist whose Art Exhibit will be on display at the Park City Library through November. Her motivation to photograph this project in black and white was to highlight the issues of race and systematic discrimination that is deep-rooted in the current immigration debate. Local photographer and adventurer, Bill Silliman grew up on a wheat and cattle farm in North Dakota and attended NDSU in pharmacy. Throughout his career he took photography classes and practiced his craft. “I have walked with gorillas in Rwanda, spent 12 days in The Serengeti, photographed brown bears at Katmai National Park in Alaska and stayed on Barter Island off Alaska for five days photographing polar bears from a 30 foot fishing boat. Recently, I have been taking many astro photography photos.”
