Local Artist Spotlight // Samantha DaSilva
Since moving from Brazil and then building a tiny house in Hawaii, Samantha DaSilva has found herself in Park City to be closer to other artists. DaSilva loves working with plaster and metallic and pigmented powders. She also loves to be outdoors, where she is inspired to create her own mediums using local newspaper and acrylics on canvas. While in Utah, DaSilva has found something profound about the space Antelope Island and how it has inspired her in her artwork.

Park City Artists at the Red Butte Garden Exhibition
The Park City Professional Artists Association (PCPAA) will exhibit at Red Butte Gardens Visitor Center May 31 through June 23. Twenty-four artists from the organization will display themes of local mountains, birds, flora and fauna in the exhibit. Jeanne Hansen, PCPAA Spokesperson is excited to display the artwork at Red Butte Gardens. “Come out and support our local artists, and enjoy a colorful variety of work and techniques,” said Hansen.

The First Coalville Community Arts Day is in the Books!
We’re so pleased to announce that the first Coalville Community Arts Day was a huge success! We had a turnout of over 100 students and parents that filtered through during the day to help create a sidewalk mural and fence art that promotes mental wellness in a positive, vibrant, and accessible way in honor of Mental Health month, which takes place during the month of May.

Celebrating Mental Health Awareness Month with Images of Resilience
CONNECT Summit County, Park City Summit County Arts Council, and the Kimball Art Center have partnered to present Images of Resilience. This exhibit will showcase resilience - finding balance in the midst of chaos - through the medium of art. University of Utah’s Dr. Scott Langenecker will be at the event to share how resilience can be learned, cultivated and strengthened. The event will also include an area for adults and children to create art. This special exhibit will be held at the Community Room in the Park City Library on May 22nd from 6:30 - 8:30pm.
