Calling all youth filmmakers in Summit, Wasatch, and Salt Lake Counties! This is an opportunity that you will not want to miss.

The Park City Summit County Arts Council, the Park City Film Series and U.S. Ski & Snowboard have come together to present the Breaking Boundaries // 2019 Snowboard, Freestyle and Freeski World Champs Youth Film Contest. The Call is targeted towards young filmmakers (21 and under) to tell stories about breaking boundaries, wherever that may apply in their lives.

Hit Broadway Musical 'Hamilton' Inspires Letter Writing Competition for Utah High School Students

Many of us Utahns felt the disappointment when tickets to Hamilton sold out in a few hours last week, but there is still a chance for a high school student in our community to attend. The State of Utah, in an incredible public/private partnership, is sponsoring students from every corner of the state to attend a performance of Hamilton through The New Nation Project letter writing competition.The competition gives high school students (grades 9-12) an opportunity to write to their legislator about an issue they care about and propose a solution.

The Future is Now // Engaging Artists and Local Youth in a Creative Collaboration

Art serves as a mechanism to bring community together. It inspires conversation. It is an outlet for expression. Its product can generate hope. Street art is a purposeful tool for community activation. It is a contemporary form of creative expression designed to engage the public, generate an emotional response, and symbolically communicate an idea.

Snyderville Basin Special Recreation District, Park City Summit County Arts Council, and the Summit County Public Art Advisory Board have come together to develop a project called The Future is Now to engage local young people in the creation of an interactive street art mural in the tunnel under Highway 224 -- a literal and figurative connection point for the Park City community.

Old Town Cellars & Kimball Art Center Seek the Soul of Park City

Old Town Cellars and Kimball Art Center have partnered to present an exciting Call for Art to be featured on an OTC wine label!

This project came to fruition through conversations that took place last summer when the KAC first reached out to OTC to develop their Sip + Sketch / Wine + Watercolor classes, which are held at OTC. The classes are taught by KAC instructors, and are meant to be fun and accessible for anyone to enjoy.  The wine, of course, is a nice addition to the art classes.

The final days of autumn are upon us, and that means the holiday season is right on its heels. What better way to kick it off than to gather friends and family for Park City’s annual Electric Parade? Produced by the Historic Park City Alliance, the Electric Parade is a free community event that celebrates Small Business Saturday and starts the holiday season in grand style. The parade is scheduled for Saturday, November 25. Anyone is welcome to participate - register by November 20!

Get Creative and Show Your Artwork at the Summit County Fair

The annual Summit County Fair brings the community together for a week of food, fun, exhibits, demonstrations, contests, and rides. In addition to the demolition derby (always a locals favorite), the livestock showings, the 4H displays, parade, pie baking contest, and the little buckeroo rodeo, the Fair hosts the Fine Arts Tent which gives local artists the opportunity to share their creative work with the public. Admission to all Fair events is free and a full schedule of activities is available on the Fair website.
