Jessica McCleary opened the doors to Mountain Town Olive Oil in 2009. Her extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegars from Modena has been a stopping point for locals and tourists enjoying Historic Main Street in Park City. McCleary hopes to help her customers use the liquids to obtain maximum flavor in every meal! 

3 years into the store’s opening, McClearly wanted to do more to offer unique experiences for her customers. She came up with the idea to host a demonstration cooking class called Next Course. Those interested in exploring the possibilities of cooking with olive oil and vinegar are encouraged to attend solo or with loved ones!

PCSC Arts Council Announces the Launch of the Summit County Creative Directory

The Park City Summit County Arts Council is excited to announce the public launch of its Creative Directory, a central resource for arts and culture listings in Park City and Summit County, Utah. The idea for a Creative Directory emerged from the cultural planning and advocacy initiatives of Project ABC: art, beauty, culture, and is a result of community input gathered during the Project ABC planning process that ran from 2017-2018. Project ABC is a community wide cultural planning initiative that grew out of a desire to more effectively connect the arts and culture community and plan for the future.

Local Author Spotlight // Melissa Marsted

Melissa Marsted, the author and creative leader behind Lucky Penny Press and Silver Dollar Press, has written a total of 4 books, with 3 more books on the way to publication. Marsted was first inspired to write by her 2nd grade teacher, at the young age of 7. From then on she avidly brought journals on family vacations to take notes and typed up her version of the trip afterwards. Even with the passing of time, Marsted still writes daily. “Whether it be for an upcoming book or for personal enjoyment,” Marsted says, “she simply loves to write.“

Experiencing the Utah Symphony | Utah Opera Pop-Up Concerts Throughout Summit County

Artists from both the Utah Symphony and Utah Opera resident artist programs performed at pop-up community concerts throughout the month of June at public libraries located in Park City Summit County. Each pop-up concert offered listeners with a unique experience. Pianos at all pop-up concerts were artistically decorated, giving attendees the chance to look at and hear two very beautiful art forms.
