We’ve all been spending a lot of time at home and find daily, solitary walks to be a physical and mental outlet for us. In order to brighten people’s day during their walks, the Arts Council partnered with Park City and Summit County to promote Chalk You Walk, a community public art project that encourages people to write messages of hope and joy on sidewalks in their neighborhood for others to enjoy as they pass by.

This space served not only as a retail gallery and studio space for 13 local artists, but also as an artist collective that enabled artists opportunities to make work and sell work in the same space. When the gallery was forced to close in mid-March due to the impacts of COVID-19, the Arts Council took this roadblock as an opportunity to pivot and transition the retail gallery into an online platform.

During this difficult time, many of us are turning to the arts as a coping mechanism, keeping us creatively active during a time of isolation. Read MoreThe Ziegfeld Theatre will be presenting a very special production of NEWSIES at Park City's Historic Egyptian Theatre March 20 to 29. Assistant Director and Choreographer Bryan Andrews was enlisted by Director Caleb Parry to help design a production to be presented in both spoken English and American Sign Language (ASL). Bryan, whose parents are Deaf, describes himself as being a CODA (Child of Deaf Adult) whose first language was ASL so he is a perfect match for the development of this project.
